An eBook short story anthology is being created that will feature the works of volunteer writers on the topic of, “Making a Difference.” One hundred percent of the royalties from the eBook sales will go to John’s Place Mattituck Homeless Outreach.
John’s Place feeds and provides overnight housing for Eastern Long Island’s homeless from November 1 through April 1. All services are provided free of charge by a volunteer staff.
Short story length should not exceed 2,500 words (if you need a little more, or a lot less, that is fine). Submission should be in a word.doc, and corrected for spelling, grammar and punctuation. Do not double space. Only use a single space between sentences. It must fit the title “Making a Difference.” It can be fiction or non-fiction, a personal account, or a story about someone else. The piece may have been previously published elsewhere, but the author must own the rights to it. Submissions may only be emailed as an attachment.
For those interested, submit your short story by December 1, 2011 to firstname.lastname@example.org with John’s Place Anthology in the message line. Include a brief bio and list any books that you have out or are coming out.
First Edition Design Publishing will format (to all e-reader styles), publish and distribute the anthology to Amazon Kindle, Apple iBookstore, Sony eReader, Barnes & Noble Book Nook, Google eBookstore, Kobo, Diesel, numerous other on-line retailers and to libraries, schools, colleges and universities worldwide. Their reach is to over 100,000 distribution points in more than 100 countries and to billions of potential readers. The anthology will also be readable on any laptop or desktop computer.
